The course, at the Golfclub München Eichenried, is one that favours attacking golf.

There’s a range of generous fairways, drive-able par-4s and FOUR par-5s – making it one of the most accommodating around.

Over the years, the course has yielded quite a few birdies, so scoring should be low.

Don’t be suckered into the idea of an identikit player though – a number of different styles are worth considering.

You could look for a player with a good Green In Regulation (GIR) score  with above-average putting, or someone who’s short-game is second to none and is putting good form.

The four day forcast for Munich looks sketchy at the moment.

According to the BBC, there could be sunny spells on Thursday followed by huge thunderstorms.

The unpredictable weather carries on into Friday – but Saturday and Sunday look dry and sunny at the moment.

The US Open finished just days ago but a few of the stars of Erin Hills are expected to be in Germany.

Fourth-placed Tommy Fleetwood is the headline act, but Sergio Garcia, Eddie Pepperell and Bern Wiesberger (who all performed well) will also be in Bavaria.

While not a complete no-no, it’s important to bear in mind those who reached the latter stages of the US Open

Garcia currently tops the Race to Dubai rankings, with Fleetwood, Jon Rahm and Alex Noren following behind.
