Xander Schauffele (-14) is atop a crowded mix of contenders for a second straight day as he enters Round 4 clinging to the lead by a stroke. However, the tournament remains as wide-open as ever with Hideki Matsuyama (-13), Paul Casey (-12) and Carlos Ortiz (-12) all within striking distance after strong third-round showings.Schauffele, Matsuyama and Casey are in the final pairing. The gold medal winner is likely to emerge from that group with Schauffele and Matsuyama the favorites. Schauffele started slow but finished his final eight holes of the third round at 2 under. Matsuyama, after a bogey on the opening hole, played the final 17 holes at 5 under as he steadily played his way into medal contention.
