BEA girls golf team defeats MCW | News, Sports, Jobs

The Blue Earth Area girls golf team notched a win when they defeated the Martin County West Mavericks at Minn-Iowa Golf Course on Tuesday, May 4.
The Bucs swept the top six spots during the meet and defeated the Mavericks by 94 strokes.
Payten Gudahl claimed medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 48. Gudahl had one par.
Finishing in second place was Rylan Storbeck who fired a 53.
Kylie Rosenau shot a 58 to take third place. Katelyn Storbeck and Lyndsey Borris each finished with a score of 61 to tie for fourth place. Jordan Smith took sixth place with a 62.
BSC Meet – Jackson
The Blue Earth Area girls golf team placed sixth at the Big South Conference held May 3, in Jackson.
Fairmont took first place with a team score of 392. BEA’s score was 456.
Payten Gudahl carded the lowest score among Buc golfers with a 109 which was good for 12th place.
Katelyn Storbeck tied for 13th with a score of 110.
Finishing in 16th place was Kylie Rosenau who shot a 112.
Rylan Storbeck’s round of 125 completed BEA’s team scoring.
Other BEA golfers were Lyndsey Borris, who shot a 128 and Jordon Smith, who had a 135.
Cardinal Invite
The Blue Earth Area girls golf team participated in the 2021 Cardinal Girls Golf Invitational on Saturday, May 1. They came home with a score of 416 which was good for fourth place.
St. Peter won the tournament with a team score of 359. The host Cardinals were the runner-up with a score of 386. Taking third place was an Iowa team from North Union with 390. BEA’s score of 416 was three strokes better than the fifth place score of 419 by the squad from Worthington.
Payten Gudahl earned a medal with an 18-hole round of 93 which tied her for seventh place.
Kylie Rosenau tied for 16th with a score of 101. Rylan Storbeck shot a 108 to tie for 26th. Lyndsey Borris finished 33rd with a 114, Katelyn Storbeck was 35 with a 119 and Jordan Smith had a round of 125 to finish 38th.
Windom Triangular
The BEA girls took first with a team score of 216. Windom Area and Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey had incomplete teams.
Kylie Rosenau of the Bucs produced a second-place individual round of 50. Rylan Storbeck was fourth overall with a round of 54.
Also contributing to the team score were Katelyn Storbeck and Payten Gudahl who each shot a 56 and tied for fifth place.
Lyndsey Borris and Delanie Bruellman each carded a round of 58 to tie for seventh place.
