Oklahoma State swept the Big 12 women’s golf individual awards after winning the 2021 Big 12 Championship and placing second at the NCAA Championships. Maja Stark earned Golfer of the Year, Rina Tatematsu claimed Freshman of the Year and Greg Robertson was voted Coach of the Year.

Stark ended her sophomore season as the Big 12’s highest ranked individual in both GolfStat and Golfweek/Sagarin ratings with a 49-2 record against top-100 competition. The two-time event winner recorded a stroke average of 70.48 (-1.42 to par) to set a school record. She registered more birdies (139) and rounds of par or better (22) than any player in program history. Her par-3 (2.99) and par-4 (3.99) scoring averages also set school records. Stark was the runner-up at the Big 12 Championship and tied for 12th at the NCAA Championships. In addition to her Conference honors, Stark was named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) First Team All-American.

Tatematsu is the Big 12’s highest-ranked freshman and concluded the year as a member of the All-Big 12 Team and a WGCA Honorable Mention All-American. She set a program record for par-5 scoring with a mark of 4.66, and her overall scoring average of 71.85 (0.12 to par) is the fifth-lowest all-time by a Cowgirl golfer. Tatematsu recorded 20 rounds at par or better, which is the third-best clip in school history, and her 118 birdies are the sixth-most. The rookie won the ICON Invitational after carding back-to-back rounds of 66, and her 14-under 202 at that event is the fourth-best 54-hole score by a Cowgirl. Tatematsu earned All-Big 12 Championship Team honors after a T8 finish.

In his second season in Stillwater, Robertson led Oklahoma State to its 10th Big 12 Championship in record-breaking fashion. The Cowgirls set three tournament team records over the three rounds, including their final tally at 34-under par to win the title by 16 strokes. Six of the seven lowest single-season scoring averages in OSU golf history have come this season. The team average score of 286.74 (-0.21) to par is a program best and ranks fourth nationally.

The All-Big 12 Women’s Golf Team was determined by an average of the season’s final Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin national rankings. OSU’s Isabella Fierro joined Stark and Tatematsu on the team. Baylor had two selections in Gurleen Kaur and Britta Snyder while Hannah Screen represented Oklahoma. Texas earned four selections with Sophie Guo, Agathe Laisne, Kaitlyn Papp and Sara Kouskova. Texas Tech’s Gala Dumez was named All-Big 12 after claiming medalist honors at the Big 12 Championship.
