MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota’s Connor Glynn, Lincoln Johnson and Ben Warian were among the 42 golfers chosen for the Big Ten Men’s Golf Preseason Honorees, the conference announced Tuesday. Glynn competed in six tournaments in the spring, finishing tied for second on the team with two top-20 finishes and 83.3 percent of scores counted. Owning a 75.67 scoring mark, Glynn matched his best finish of the season with a tie for 20th at the Big Ten Championships. He also took 20th at the Git R Done Husker Invitational with a season-best 6-over 219. Off the course, Glynn was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a GCAA All-American Scholar. Posting a 75.18 scoring average, Johnson tied for the team lead with two top-10 finishes and was second in rounds under par (3), birdies (46), tournaments leading the team (1) and top-20 finishes (2) as he competed in seven tournaments for the Gophers. Johnson led the team and posted the best finish of his career with a tie for seventh at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational, while he later finished ninth at the Git R Done Husker Invitational with a season-best 2-over 215.As a freshman in 2020-21, Warian was second on the team in top-20 finishes (2) and third in scoring average (74.93), rounds under par (2) and top-10 finishes (1). His best tournament came at the Boilermaker Invitational where he posted career bests for finish (t-9th), score to par (-2) and 54-hole score (214). Warian was named Minnesota’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree at the conclusion of the season. The Gophers 2021 fall schedule was recently announced, and it will consist of five tournaments, starting Sept. 5-7 at the Marquette Intercollegiate. Minnesota returns home the following week to host the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club (Sept. 12-13)
