Illini Invitational at Medinah Up Next for Women’s Golf

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s golf team continues its fall slate of tournaments with the Illini Invitational at Medinah Country Club on Oct. 11-12. The 14-team field will play on Course No. 2, which is a par-72, 6,159 yard course. The Sooners will debut a new lineup at Medinah, featuring Meagan Winans, Hannah Screen, Mikhaela Fortuna, LIbby Winans and Nina Lang. Lang makes her first appearance in the OU lineup after competing as an individual at the Schooner Fall Classic. M. Winans led the OU contingent in their last tournament, the Schooner, shooting a 4-over 214 to finish tied for 22nd. Lang and Screen recorded the second-best total and Lang led all individuals in the field at Belmar Golf Club, finishing tied for 27th with 6-over 216. L. Winans and Fortuna will make their third appearance in the lineup for the Sooners this fall. Fortuna led OU at the Sam Golden Invitational, firing rounds of 70-68-69 in the season-opening tournament to finish 9-under par.

All three rounds will be played on Medinah’s Course No. 2, which underwent renovation and reopened in June 2017.


Fifty-four holes will be played over two days with 36 holes being played Monday, Oct. 11 and the final 18 on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The first round of competition will feature a 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while Tuesday’s final 18 holes will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
