LA Golf teams win against Crossville | Sports

By Emily Gillentine,OCN SportsBoth Livingston Academy’s boys and girls golf teams won in a recent match against Crossville. The teams faced off on Thursday, Aug. 19 at Hidden Valley Golf Course.Coach Buddy Sells stated, “This is the first year that I can think of that we’ve consistently beat them, and that’s a big step for the program.”
Cora Duke and Halle Ledbetter both eagled on hole number 4. Duke came within a foot of getting a double eagle, from almost 170 yards. Duke finished with a score of 90 and Ledbetter finished with a score of 85. This brought the girls team score to a total of 175.Bryson Fletcher had a score of 77, leading the boys team. He was 5 over on the first 9 holes and finished even on the last 9. The rest of the individual LA scores are follows, Tayshawn Hayes with a score of 92, Dawson Ledbetter 97, and Teddy Tudhope 88. The boys total score was 354.Coach Sells proudly stated, “We had a good match at home on Thursday and I’m proud of everybody going forward.”The teams will play in a tournament on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Bear Trace. The girls team will also play on Thursday, Aug. 26 at Lake Tansi.
