CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNCW’s men’s golf team faces another test this weekend when it competes at the Tar Heel Invitational beginning on Mar. 27 at the UNC Finley Golf Course.Tee times each day will begin at 8:30 a.m. Par is 72 and the course yardage is 7,242.The Seahawks won their last tournament outing by 21 strokes over Wright State at the Seahawk Intercollegiate at River Landing Golf Club.Freshman Drew Hackett finished second at the event and was named CAA Golfer of the Week. Hackett tied his career-low round with a six-under-par 66 in the second round and he finished with a career-low tournament score of 209.Joining Hackett in the top three finishers were Blake McShea and Chris Rahm, who both tied for third at six-under.Rounding out the lineup are Lansdon Robbins and Walker Isley. Sander Akeren will compete as an individual.The Seahawks enter the Tar Heel Invitational ranked 43rd nationally by Golfstat. Host North Carolina is the highest ranked team at the event, checking in at 16 on Golfstat’s list.The tournament field includes UNC, 24th-ranked Arkansas State, Campbell, Davidson, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, JMU, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, Michigan State, UNCG and Virginia Tech.
