OU, OSU Qualify for Men’s Golf Championship Match Play

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State qualified for Match Play quarterfinals at the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship after placing in the top eight of stroke play.  
 
Match Play begins on Tuesday, June 1, with quarterfinals scheduled in the morning. No. 2 seed OSU will compete against No. 7 seed Vanderbilt while No. 4 seed OU faces No. 5 seed Illinois. OSU’s first tee time is at 8:20 a.m. CT off the first hole while the Sooners begin at 9:10 a.m. CT on the 10th tee with live coverage on the Golf Channel from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. CT. The winners of the quarterfinal matches move on to semifinals on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 2:45 p.m. CT with Golf Channel coverage starting at 4 p.m. CT. The national championship match will be played on Wednesday, June 2 at 3:30 p.m. CT with the Golf Channel picking it up at 4 p.m. CT.
 
The Cowboys played the course at par after 72 holes of stroke play to finish second while Oklahoma claimed fourth place at +10. Bo Jin paced OSU as he was second among individuals at -6 while Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra tied for eighth at -1. The Sooners were led by Jonathan Brightwell and Quade Cummins who tied for sixth at -2.
 
Texas Tech completed its season tied for 11th at the NCAA Championship, while TCU placed 16th and Texas finished 25th. TTU’s Ludvig Aberg tied for eighth among individuals at -1.
