Yesterday marked another milestone in the relaxing of lockdown restrictions in England as people were allowed to meet up outdoors again in groups of up to six, or as two households.
Outdoor sports facilities like tennis courts and golf courses were also allowed to welcome visitors back again.
The Carlisle Golf Centre and Driving Range was able to open for the first time in three months, and people were eager to get “swinging” again, according to Director, Mike Tinning.
“As soon as we opened there was a queue of people waiting to get in, which is great to see,” said Mike.
” When we saw the weather this morning we weren’t 100 per cent sure how busy it would be, but people are keen to get back out there and swinging again.
Despite the end of the stay-at-home rule, the Government has asked people to minimise travel.
Mike said he was glad to at least see people enjoying their spare time with friends in the outdoors again.
