Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation completes successful golf tournament | Sports

(Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 edition)A record thirty-nine teams competed in this year’s tournament on September 7 at the Dayton Golf and Country Club. 2022 was the inaugural year for the tournament to honor the late Paul Riggs, a long-time member of the Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation (RMHF) Board and avid golfer.Paul was instrumental in helping to develop this event into the successful tournament it is today. Three teams tied, so a random hole was selected and the team that ended up winning included Patrick Everett, Wayne Stewart, Lexi Leffew and Skyler Everett.The RMHF mission is to provide support to Rhea Medical Center’s mission of partnering with physicians and the community to provide safe, quality, compassionate and affordable healthcare.Proceeds from this event went toward the purchase of four Stryker Arthroscopy lenses. “These lenses are similar to a professional camera lens. They enhance definition and clarity to see in and around the knee or shoulder joint. This allows us to diagnose orthopedic injuries with greater accuracy to that we can get our community back to the activities they love!”, according to Dr. Lee Radford, orthopedic surgeon at Rhea Medical Center.
