BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After contributing to Lehigh’s team title at the Alabama A&M Fall Invite and earning individual medalist honors, first-year Jake Roth has been named Patriot League Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. This marks the third consecutive week a Lehigh golfer was recognized in a week that the Mountain Hawks competed. Daniel Song won this award on Oct. 5 and Oct. 26.

Roth followed Song’s win at the Lehigh Invitational by claiming the individual title at the Alabama A&M Fall Invite. The Rockville, Md., native shot 11 under par 133 over 36 holes to post a six-stroke victory. Roth carded 12 birdies, one bogey and 23 pars over his 36 holes, shooting 68 in Monday’s opening round and 65 in Tuesday’s second round. The 65 was the lowest round by a Lehigh player since 2013, while the 133 is Lehigh’s lowest 36-hole tournament score since at least 2001.

The Mountain Hawks cruised to a 32-stroke victory to capture their second team championship of the fall season. Including Roth, Lehigh had four of the top five individual finishers on the way to a final total of 557 (277-280).

The Alabama A&M Fall Invite concluded the Mountain Hawks’ fall season.
