CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina – Junior Mallory Fobes and freshman Malu Brinker each shot a 1-over 73 to lead UNCW during the final round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Course on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who posted a 302 team score in the final round, closed the tournament in 17th place. Wake Forest won the team title after posting a 1-under par 287, finishing 10 strokes ahead of Clemson in the final standings.
Fobes authored four birdies in the final round to finish play in a tie for 40th place at 3-over par (74-72-73=219). Brinker registered three birdies in her final round performance and earned a share of 47th place with a 75-73-73=221 tournament score.
UNCW closes the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule on Oct. 29-31 by hosting The Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course.
