OAKLAND — The Southern High School boys’ basketball program hosted its 36th annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser this past Friday at the Oakland Golf Club.It proved to be a lively event as 23 teams participated in a scramble tournament during what was a beautiful day.“I want to thank the many former players that played, along with everyone who helped make this event happen,” said Southern boys’ head coach Tom Bosley. “We are extremely fortunate to live in a community that is so supportive of our youth.“I also want to thank our sponsors that contributed. They continue to support the program each and every year, and we appreciate everything they’ve done.”The money will help raise funding for basketball trips, especially the longer ones downstate, as well as other needs to help run the upcoming season.“We are looking forward to the upcoming season, and we can’t wait to see everyone in Ram Arena,” said Bosley. “It’s been a long time since we’ve played.”
