MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State men’s golfer Tim Tillmanns shot a 9-under par 275 to tie for 11th place at the 2021 European Amateur Championship held at the Golf du Médoc Resort in France. Also in the field was Wildcat Riccardo Leo, who tied for 53rd at 1-over par 285.

Tillmanns made a big jump on the leaderboard during Friday’s third round when he carded a 6-under par 65 that featured seven birdies and only one bogey. He was also under par in the first round with a 68 and shot even par during rounds two and four.

Leo recorded a pair of under-par rounds with a 2-under 69 in round two and a 1-under 70 in the third round.

The performances by Tillmanns and Leo extend a successful summer for the Wildcats. Additionally, incoming freshman Nicklaus Mason was the Kansas 5A State Medalist with a two-round score of 5-under par 139.
