Webb Announces Signing of Parr to Vol Golf’s 2023 Class

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Canadian native Jean-Philippe Parr has signed with Tennessee and is set to join the Vols’ class of 2023, Tennessee men’s golf coach Brennan Webb announced Wednesday.

A native of Saint-Célestin, Quebec, Parr is the No. 1 ranked international player and No. 19 overall player in the class of 2023 according to Junior Golf Scoreboard.

“JP is one of the more athletic junior golfers I have seen,” Webb said. “His junior and amateur accomplishments line up with some of the very best players in the country and around the world.

“I fully expect JP to be able to make the transition into high-level college golf and help us as we chase down SEC and NCAA Championships.”

Parr is just three months removed from claiming his second Canadian Junior Boys Championship victory—becoming the eighth player in history to win back-to-back titles.

In addition to his wins, Parr also has recorded top-five finishes at the 2022 International Junior Orange Bowl (third place), the 2021 North and South Junior (third-place) and the 2022 Canadian Men’s Amateur (fourth place).

Parr has top-15 finishes at the 2022 Sage Valley Junior (eighth place), 2022 Terra Cotta Invitational (ninth place), 2021 Junior Players Championship (12th place) and 2021 Wyndham Invitational (14th place) to his credit.
