Worthington Golf Women hit links in 2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

PARKERSBURG — The Worthington Women’s Golf Association opened its long-awaited organized golfing season for 2021 on the first Tuesday in May.
Last year’s play was impacted by the pandemic, so all the ladies were anxious to get underway for this year.
At June’s monthly business meeting, May winners were announced and prizes awarded to 18-hole players: Katie Parsons, Gaye Fife, Mary Ingram, Sandy Perrine, Mina Applebaum, Marsha Jackson and Jean Tornes.
Winners from the nine-hole players group were Susan Cockerham, Ruth Ann Lynch, Judy Langkamer, Ann Boyce, Jane Graham and Peggy Ahlborn.
Chairman Vicki Fielder also announced the annual Fun Day, another casualty of 2020, will be held on July 22. All lady golfers in the area are invited to form a four-member team and come and play.
Posters and team sign-up sheets are being distributed to all area courses. For sign-up sheets or additional information call the Worthington Golf Club.
