This year’s tournament field will include 11 teams in Appalachian State, Delaware, East Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, NC Central, Oakland, VCU, and Winthrop as well as the Chanticleers.

The Chants’ lineup this week will have a few familiar faces in Zack Taylor, States Fort, Seth Taylor, and Tyler Gray, but will also have a new face in the lineup in Jorgen Viken.

The reigning Sun Belt Golfer of the Week, Zack Taylor has been the No. 1 golfer in the Coastal lineup in all six tournaments thus far this season and has posted two top-five individual finishes on the year including a third-place showing last time out at the General Hackler Championship. The fifth-year senior has carded three rounds in the 60’s and 10 rounds of par or better on the year and is second on the team with a 71.76 season stroke average.

Perhaps the only golfer having a better spring season than Zack Taylor is fellow fifth-year senior Fort. Fort leads the team with a 70.56 stroke average on the season and has been the top performer for the Chants in two of the three tournaments this spring. Seven of his nine rounds this spring have been par or better and he is coming off a top-25 finish at the General Hackler Championship one week ago.

Sophomore Seth Taylor will tee-off in his seventh tournament this season for the Chants, as he enters the week with a season stroke average of 74.82 over 17 rounds of play. Taylor, who had a sixth-place finish at the AGT Intercollegiate in January is coming off rounds of 70, 75, and 76 at the Chants’ home tournament last week.

Gray played his way back into the lineup after competing as an individual last week at the General Hackler Championship. The junior golfer posted rounds of 72, 77, and 75 finish in a tie for 44th overall with a 54-hole score of 224, +8. Gray has played in every event on the season and has shot eight rounds of par or better and registered a season stroke average of 73.71 on the year.

Viken will be making his first appearance in the CCU lineup. Playing as an individual in his first tournament as a Chant last week, he was consistent, recording rounds of 74, 74, and 73 to place in a tie for 29th overall at 221, +5, at the General Hackler Championship.

First-year Chant Viktor Olund will be playing in the event as an individual. Olund is playing in his second event of the season, as he placed in a tie for 49th at 225, +9, last week at the V1 Sports General Hackler Championship with rounds of 67, 83, and 75.
